Heartbeat by Sharon Creech

9780060540241.jpgLocal Middle School student Anne Kim Campbell reviewed Sharon Creech’s book Heartbeat.

Twelve year old Annie is going through a lot. Her friend is moody, and urges her to join the track team. In art class she has the assignment of drawing 100 apples, and her family is getting a new baby. Though all of this she learns about her family, her friend, and some about herself. This book is easy to read and held my attention, especially with the somewhat surprising ending. I think kids who like stories about families or just like short and simple stories, would like this book.

Heartbeat is available at Monkey See, Monkey Read, 425 Division St. Northfield.

This was a really great writing, but i think the writer should add more details, and i think it should be a little longer, But other than that GOOD JOB whoo hoo!

I am in middle school and I liked this book but it should say more at the end about what happens with Max and her. I recomend this book to everyone who enjoys short books because i also think it should have been longer.
